If you’re looking for a low-cost, full-function smartphone, then the Nokia 500should meet your needs and more. As you can see from the pictures, this is a touch-screen phone. It’s got a 3.2-inch capacitive touch display, with a screen resolution of 640 x 360 pixels. On the back, there’s a 5-megapixel camera that can also capture video – ideal for holiday snaps and days out. The Nokia 500comes with the latest Symbian Anna OS, offering a refreshed UI, a better browser and split-screen messaging. As you’d expect, preinstalled you’ll find the latest version of Nokia Maps for free drive and walk navigation, plus you can download every other app you might need from the Store. If you’re anything like us, then your first week with the phone will be occupied filling and then emptying the phone of dozens of apps. The music player is complemented by an FM radio receiver and Internet Radio access to all the music and news you might need, not just from your own country, but from around the world. Social Media is catered for through the Social app, bringing friends’ updates to your homescreen.
Under the hood, there’s the 1GHz processor – allowing for plenty of oomph when you’re multitasking lots of apps or doing something extra-demanding. There’s 2GB of storage memory, plus the possibility of increasing this by a further 32GB using the micro-SD card slot. Like all our recent smartphones, it offers pentaband radio coverage so world travellers need never be out of touch, 3G data up to HSUPA speeds [that’s a whopping maximum speed of 5.8Mbps nowadays, by the way]. There’s also Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi b/g, as you’d expect. The phone measures 111.3 x 53.8 x 14.1mm and weighs in at 93g – lighter than any other Symbian phone to date. It’s also worth mentioning the battery, which despite the faster processor, still manages to pull off a very respectable performance. For us, that’s an absolute priority. The battery will see you through 5-7 hours talk time, 450+ hours in standby mode or up to 35 hours of music playback, if that’s your thing. source

Valentine DAy Special offer on Unlocked LG Optimus 2X

Unlocked LG Optimus 2X
Unlocked LG Optimus 2X
The LG Optimus 2X is one of the first Android phones to boast a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz processor with an impressive eight-core GeForce graphics processing unit to boot. We're talking top of-the-line hardware in this smartphone, although unfortunately this particular model doesn't support any North American 3G or 4G connectivity. The specs still sound pretty awesome and we expect to see a very quick device, but is LG's customized version of Android 2.2 up to the task? Read on for our full review of the LG Optimus 2X. with 1 GHz Dual Core Tegra 2 Processor, Full HD Video Play on 4.0” IPS Screen, 8 MP Camera, LED Flash with Full HD 1080p Video & 1.3 MP Front Camera, HDMI & DLNA Connectivity. It’s equipped with heavy multitasking features with smooth user experience. It takes only half of time to load web pages or open big files. One can play high graphic games with easeand watch Full HD 1080p videos with no frame lag.
From the form to the finish and well-placed physical keys, the device is of commendable build quality. The flush glass front, which houses the 4-inch WVGA display, is also home to four capacitive touch controls, a forward-facing camera and earpiece. The screen is respectable with good viewing angles, retains legibility under sunlight and comparable to its contemporaries. Run your fingers across the panel and you'll feel the gentle slopes on the left and right edges. It's a subtle design element (subliminal even) that lets you ""feel"" where the touch screen begins and ends on the sides. or
The LG Optimus 2X has a fairly nice and slim size and weight at 63.2x123.9x10.9 millimeters and 139 grams. It comes with LG's flavor of Google Android 2.2.1 and a dual core 32bit NVIDIA Tegra 2 250, along with a 1000MHz CPU with 512MB RAM. In terms of storage it's got 8GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for expansion. The four-inch 480x800 color IPS TFT LCD looks pretty good, and you've also got HDMI video out (the actual full device screen) support and 3.5mm audio jack. For radio bands, you've got GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900, and UMTS2100. Of course Bluetooth, WLAN, GPS, A-GPS, QuickGPS, Geotagging, FM radio, and an accelerometer are also on board, plus an eight-megapixel camera, auto-focus, flash, front-facing camera, and a 1500mAh removable battery to power it all. The build quality of the device is quite solid, but the battery cover tends to be very difficult to open.
