The Samsung T749 Highlight takes a few design liberties that reflect its entry-level image. It's a bit rounder and sleeker than many of its Samsung touch-screen brethren and it shows a pattern on its rear cover.At 4.27 inches tall by 2.11 inches wide by 0.54 inch thick, the Highlight a bit chunkier than some of its counterparts, but we welcome the extra girth. TheSamsung SGH-T749 Highlight from T-Mobile looks like just another touchscreen phone, at first glance. The pocket-friendly feature phone measures in at 109mm x 53mm x 13mm (4.3in x 2.1in x 0.5in), but weighs a slightly hefty 105g (3.7oz). The 3 megapixel camera is positioned at the top of the back of the phone, with the speakerphone grille right next to it. The entire back cover of the phone can be removed to reveal the generous 1200mAh battery. The SIM card slot and microSD card slot are both located underneath the battery.

T-Mobile has just announced two new myTouch devices built by LG: the T-Mobile myTouch. The T-Mobile myTouch is your basic slab-style smartphone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a single-core 1GHz processor from Qualcomm. The myTouch has a 3.8-inch display, a 5-megapixel rear shooter capable of video capture in 720p, and a VGA front-facing camera for video chat. but AndroidGuys are thinking that these are most likely T-Mobile’s version of the LG Univa, it will be sporting a 3.5” HVGA display while running on an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM and a 5MP camera in the rear, with its choice of Android being in the Gingerbread 2.3 flavor. Rounding out the duo is the myTouch Q QWERTY slider. It holds most of the same specs as its myTouch cousin, including Android 2.3 Gingerbread and that 1GHz single-core Qualcomm processor. However, the front-facing VGA camera has been ditched and the screen was reduced to 3.8 inches. No worries though, the myTouch Q still keeps that 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p video capture. The four-row slide-out keyboard comes loaded with a Genius button, which launches directly into T-Mobile’s voice control system. MOTOROLA is aiming to be Android top dog and to achieve that takes not only awesome high-end smart phones like the Atrixes, but also phones that take potential buyers’ wallets into consideration. This resulted in the MOTOROLA QUENCH XT5, a phone that takes on the LG Optimus One P500 and the Samsung Galaxy 3. We clearly liked both of the aforementioned devices, so the XT5 has quite the task ahead of it. The MOTOROLA QUENCH XT5 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, which is clocked at 600MHz, and comes with stock Android 2.1 Eclair. Eclair’s a bit of a bummer, not by itself, but simply because the Optimus One ships with FroYo out of the box, and even the perennially slow Samsung have announced a FroYo update for the Galaxy 3. Motorola on the other hand, are being rather defiant about updating their phones, and there’s no news on if/when the XT will get an OS update. One might expect the 600MHz processor to cause a performance bottleneck, but contrary to expectations, the UNLOCKED MOTOROLA QUENCH XT5 performs admirably. The touch screen, even when using multi-touch, is responsive and there’s minimal to no lag present and even that only shows up when the phone’s undergoing heavy multi-tasking. The accelerometer is also quite responsive and it recognizes tilts quickly and accurately. There are three different keyboard layouts for text input, which can be changed at will by swiping over them. These include the standard QWERTY layout, the numeric keypad and even a half-QWERTY keypad. The keys are well spaced out, especially in landscape mode, so typing isn’t much of a hassle. The video player on the XT5 is decent, as its augmented by a pretty good screen. It only plays files of resolutions of up to 640x480 (640x360 for 16:9 videos), but the codec support is pretty good, with DivX and H264 both supported.

It has the standard two-tone design from HTC, and looks to be either aluminum or just silver and white paint. It's definitely a nice looking device though. It'll be fun to see how well Skype works. We're hoping Microsoft isn't rushing it into WP7 since the acquisition of Skype just went through last month. That doesn't seem like a lot of time to "deeply integrate" Skype as has been advertised.

Nokia 3711 (Unlocked Quadband) GSM Cell Phone

NOKIA INTRODUCE for NOKIA fans in the United States don't get
many breaks. Few  company's phones make it to U.S. carrier and the
models that land here tend to be basic handsets for making calls. The Nokia
3711 for T-Mobile is one such phone. Simple in form and function, the 3711
is built mainly for communication with a couple of extra features thrown in.
Call quality is good, and it takes admirable photos, but the flip phone design
feels a bit flimsy and the external display isn't very useful. The 3711 is $69
with an Even More service contract and $159 with a no-contract Even More
Plus plan. the 3711, Nokia continues a signature design trend that began with
the Nokia 2605 and continued with the 7205 and the 2705. When you open
the phone it forms the same smooth curve that gently cradles your head. We
like the thin profile and clean lines, but we'd understand if others wanted something that cast a bigger shadow.
Also, it's worth noting that the phone doesn't rest flat on a table when open. You can spin it like a top, but it
wobbles if you try to text.
At 3.5 by 1.85 by 0.59 inches and 3.31 ounces, the 3711 is relatively compact and lightweight. The hinge is

sturdy enough, but we couldn't help but notice a wispy feeling in the hand. It's sturdier then both the 2605 and the 2705, but it's still not a model that we'd want to bang around. We like the ribbed battery cover, but could take or leave the sable (aka brown) color scheme. According to Nokia, the 3711 is made from 8 percent recycled material.
